The Imagenation: 2004 Independent Film & Music Festival is a two- part festival taking place in Harlem, USA (April 1-4) and in Mogale City, South Africa (April 22- 26).
April 26th, 2004, marks 10 years of independence in South Africa. In both the US and South Africa, our festival will celebrate South Africa's independence and emphasize the power of liberation cinema through a diverse slate of film screenings, panel discussions, workshops, live musical performances, and networking parties. We are looking for revolutionary/ progressive South African Narrative Films to be submitted for entry into this event. For more information, submission forms can be accessed on www.imagenation.us.
The Deadline is soon! Films will be selected through a call for submissions that closes March 12, 2004.

Imagenation: 2004 Independent Film & Music Festival The imagenation: 2004 Independent Film Festival is four days of independent film screenings from directors of color, panel discussions, live musical performances and networking parties located at Harlem's world famous Apollo Theater, Aaron Davis Hall and other Uptown venues. The imagenation festival includes "Revolution!", an awards ceremony honoring progressive artists like Erykah Badu, Chuck D and Roger Geunveur Smith, at The Apollo Theater. Imagenation: 2004 Independent Film & Music Festival On April 27th , South Africa will celebrate 10 years of independence. Imagenation will honor this day with four-days of the best independent cinema from throughout the African Diaspora. Summer 2004 - Flicks, Beats & Life . New York, NY Flicks, Beats & Life is an annual free outdoor concert and film screening that takes place in Harlem's historic Marcus Garvey Park. This popular open-air screening features a showcase of short films by directors of color and red-hot performances by emerging artists.
