Most of the screenings are either African or South African premieres. The festival also offers filmmaker workshops ; industry seminars; discussion fora; outreach activities that include screenings in township areas where cinemas are non existent, and much more.
The festival calls for entries from around the world . Feature films, short films and documentaries are all welcome. The festival does have a competition component . The deadline for entries is 1 March 2005 for short films and documentaries ; 1 April 2005 for feature films.
